We spent Father’s Day weekend camping, boating and hiking near and around Devil’s Lake. What a beautiful view.

Camp is set up it’s almost time for bed! Mama picked up a really cool (and free!) “adventure guide” at REI for me to journal about the camping weekend. I can’t wait to fill it out and use the stickers!

On Saturday we spent most of the day at Devil’s Lake either eating lunch in the boat…

watching some jumpers for entertainment and…

climbing the steep and rocky steps of the lake’s west bluff!

Once we were back at the campsite…we spent some time getting reacquainted with simple outdoorsy kinds of things…like bubbles…

Papa even relearned how to make food over an open fire…

and for dessert we made mouth watering s’mores—-Uncle Pete…you have to get your own chocolate!!

Sunday morning was Father’s day and the morning started out great! Uncle Pete made me chocolate pancakes and Auntie Robyn made Papa his favorite breakfast…

CORNED BEEF HASH!!!!! Take your time, Papa!!

Then we gave Uncle Pete and Papa their Father’s Day cards…I thought they were awesome.

Then Mama had a few surprises up her sleeve for Papa that I didn’t even know about—like this awesome new t-shirt…

and what?…who is that a picture of?

Papa’s favorite celebrity (“He’s been through so much…”), Bret Michels. (I know him from the 80s hair band, Poison.) Wow! What a great weekend! I think I even came home with less than 5 mosquito bites! I hope everyone had a great weekend…we’ll see you again soon! (P.S. If you find yourself in WI on Wed., July 28th then come by the Middleton High School and see me in a play! My part is small, but I have the play’s punch line! It’s going to be a blast!!!)

Since last September, I’ve been taking a hip-hop dance class. It meets once a week at a nearby dance studio. This past January we started learning a dance routine to perform at a show. I wasn’t exactly sure what that meant, but now that I’ve mastered my first stage performance… I’m ready for more! Check out some of my stage moves during our rehearsals and the actual show below. If you’re patient you’ll even get to watch us live via flip video!!

We had to practice running onto the stage. I was first in my row.

We also had to practice exactly where we were supposed to stand. I think I’m doing pretty good.

We also practiced our routine. We used part of a Justin Beiber song–I thought it was cool.

This is my famous squat…I was the only one that consistently made it almost to the floor for every squat and back up again. My teacher kept commenting on it!

We even had to practice pointing at ourselves!

We also had some freestyle minutes during our routine. I love doing the robot.

Can you believe I had to skip forward and backward? Now that was kind of tricky!

Whew…thank goodness the rehearsals are all over…

I can’t wait to take my trophy home!

Ta-da!!!

What the biscuit??? Mamaaaaaaaaaa…..

What a great show! I can’t wait to do it again next year!!

Here we are at the Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee…waiting, waiting, waiting…

First up was Allison Iraheta—another American Idol singer from Adam Lambert’s season. She did a great job too…and she even had a duet with guitarist (and singer) Orianthi.

Whoa! Orianthi is great, but a little loud for me. When is Adam coming out????

Holy cow! Check out all of the lasers. I kept trying to touch them, but they were a little too high!

No, he doesn’t like costumes at all!

He even did an acoustic type set of his Waddya Want From Me…it sounded great!

He rocked the house. I didn’t want the show to end! I hope everyone had a great week! We’ll see you next time—I’ll have a whole post of our family camping trip!

I’m graduating!!! (Well, from preschool that is!)

I even had to walk across a bridge to receive my (preschool) diploma…

and threw my hat up in the air for the grand finale!

Plus I had to have my picture taken with lots of different people…okay, not really that many. Regardless, it felt like a real graduation. Kindergarten here I come!!!

BUT FIRST….

BRATFEST!!! We once again beat last year’s record and are now over 200,000 brats sold for the weekend. Now that’s a lot of brats!

Check out how many people they have cooking the brats! P.S. Did I mention it was close to 90 and EXTREMELY humid???

That didn’t stop us though!

After the yummy brats (and hot dog) Mama, Auntie Robyn and I went to the carnival area. I had a chance to throw 3 darts and pop a balloon and not only did I pop one on my first try, but the balloon that I popped was marked with “large prize”. Isn’t the froggy the cutest?

I had to take a bathroom break. Mama said not to touch anything, but really I think going to the bathroom inside of a closed dark vessel is really cool!

Yes, I really made Auntie Robyn jump into the pit of slimy balls!!

Whoops! I wasn’t quite ready and neither was the carnie or Auntie Robyn!!

Mama said this was going to be tricky, but she must have been teasing me…this is sooo easy!

*bonk* Ouch! I guess it’s harder than it looks!

It took a little bribe to get me on this Dragon roller coaster, but once I was done I was ready to do it again!

Can I be a pilot in a plane with air conditioning instead?

I don’t know about you, but I’m beat!

So, Mama got this really great idea to have a BBQ on Memorial Day weekend and then invited 26 families to the bash! And of course she just HAD to make fresh lemonade! All I could do was keeping asking “are we done yet???”

After 3 trips to the grocery store (by different people) we finally had enough lemons to make 32oz of juice and 2 gallons of lemonade with lemon wedge garnishes! What a job!

We also made a huge double batch of texas-cavier—it was to die for!! You’ll have to email Mama if you want the secret recipe!

Papa manned the grill (and smoke)—who knew that 1/2 pound (oops) burgers would create so much smoke???

All in all the party was a huge success! Thank you to all of our party-goers!

And what better way to end the night than with a fire and some s’mores??? I asked Mama if we could have a party again next weekend and all she did was stare at me. What the biscuit???

Last, but not least, we went curbside at a friend’s house to watch the Cross Plains’ Memorial Day parade.

Yes, I think I would have been fired by now if making posts was actually my job. I’ve become such a slacker! Actually, part of the problem is that I have such a huge back-up of pictures I can’t decide where to even start. So, I’ve attempted to make a dent and although I still have another 50-100 I’d like to post that’s going to have to wait until the next post. I’ve tried to come up with a good mix— enjoy!

Yes, this is the map that the Easter bunny left me in my basket. Yes, I said Easter. Mama is a little behind these days. The map was awesome and made me walk all over the house, upstairs and downstairs and even out to Mama and Papa’s cars!

I think most of you viewed the video of me riding without my bicycle training wheels, but in case you missed it Mama took some great photos of the transition too!

Papa had to get out the tools to take my training wheels off today. I can’t wait!

Mama, Papa and I went to Stoughton’s cinema cafe to watch How To Train Your Dragon.

Papa and I are so excited that we get to eat and watch a movie at the same time. Bring it on!!!

I went to a preschool friend’s birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese. It rocked!

Chuck E. Cheese even showed up to shake all of our hands…I haven’t seen him before. (Mama, so, there’s a person inside there, right?)

They even have some new games. Check out this horse ride. You can even jump over hurdles. It was great.

They also have this crazy time capsule box for the birthday kids. You step inside, put on goggles and wait. Then, extremely strong air blows a ton of tickets around at you and you try to collect as many as you can.

I thought it looked cool…until the air started! Thank goodness only the birthday boy had to go through that! He did a great job!

My preschool had a really fun end of year picnic. It was fun, but extremely hot (90 and more humid than the rain forest!)

We had a great time regardless. I am going to miss all of the teachers and kids at my preschool! (Stay tuned for graduation pics…those will have to wait until next week!) Thank you for coming to visit my website! I hope everyone is having a great start to summer. We’ll see you next week!
